Our story

Built with faith, hard work,
and island spirit

Where the seafood is juicy and the vibes are salty.

"This isn't just another restaurant."

Before the boil, there was the shop. Our family opened Things & Tings on Saint Johns Avenue — a little corner of Palatka where everyday living meets island flavor: home goods, island fashion, spices, wines, and a juice bar with a smile. It became more than a store. It became a gathering place.

But there was always one more dream on the list: a table of our own. On June 24, 2026, we bought the building at 909 SR 19 N — our very first restaurant — and got to work. We painted coral murals on the walls, built the bar plank by plank, and hung a neon crab out front.

Crabby Ben's is what happens when island spirit meets a Southern seafood boil: crab by the tray, oysters three ways, cold drinks, loud tables, and nobody in a hurry to leave. Same family. Same vibes. Bigger pot.

What we're about

The house rules

🦀

Fresh & generous

Seafood boiled to order, poured out hot, and portioned like family's visiting. If it's not fresh, it's not on the menu.

🌴

Island spirit, local pride

The same spirit that fills the shop fills this room — flavor, color, music, and a welcome that means it. Palatka isn't our market; it's our home.

🤝

Community first

Built with faith and hard work, for the community that raised us. Come for the crab, stay for the people — leave with more than you came for.

The family business

It started on Saint Johns Ave

Things & Tings is our first love — a community hub where everyday living meets vibrant cultural flavor. Home goods, island fashion, spices & seasonings, wines, snacks, and a juice bar. Shop. Sip. Discover.

Swing by before dinner — it's a five-minute drive from the restaurant.
